New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Hornets signed itinerant
center Lou Amundson for the remainder of the season and released fellow big
man Henry Sims on Tuesday.
Amundson recently appeared in one game for the Chicago Bulls after signing a
10-day contract on March 2. He began the 2012-13 season with Minnesota and
played 20 games with the Timberwolves before being waived on Feb. 8.
In the 21 combined games, the 6-foot-9 Amundson averaged 1.5 points and 2.3
rebounds.
The UNLV product has averaged 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds over 309 games
during a career that also includes stints with Utah, Philadelphia, Phoenix,
Golden State and Indiana.
Sims scored four points in two games with the Hornets.
