The students were asked to research porn on the internet and list eight facts about the porn industry.
They were also told to write down their own personal views about pornography and any experience they may have had, good or bad.
Three parents called the district to complain so the principal, superintendent and health teacher decided it was best to scrap the assignment.
"You know what, the age appropriateness of the assignment was not the best choice, so we pulled the plug,” Brooklyn Schools Superintendent Jeff Lampert “Folks were right, we need to re-visit this, so we pulled the assignment."
The superintendent says the teacher simply made a bad decision and the district reacted as quickly as possible.
So far, there has been no decision to discipline the teacher.
