Police say the SUV plowed through a guardrail and and then tore a path of destruction through the entire house. The SUV entered the living room in the front of the house and then exited at the back of the house.
The woman who lived in the home was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe the woman, identified as 47-year-old Lucy Taylor, was sitting on her couch at the time the SUV smashed into her living room.
Police took the two people who were in the SUV in custody. Both reportedly received minor injuries but refused treatment.
The driver has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. More charges are pending. The passenger was not charged and was released from custody Friday.
The house sits at the end of a road at a T-style intersection. A neighbor says the guardrail had gone up after a previous accident
The accident happened Thursday night around 8 p.m.
