WASHINGTON -- Two employees of KBR, working for the contractor in Iraq, say they were sexually assaulted by a fellow employee and a soldier while they were working there.
Mary Beth Kineston, of Olmsted Falls, was one of
two women who recounted their experiences during a U.S. Senate hearing late Wednesday.
Kineston said she was assaulted in 2004 while working as a truck driver with her husband for KBR in Iraq.
She testified along with Dawn Leamon, of Illinois, who said she was sodomized and forced to have oral sex with a soldier and a co-worker after she drank a cocktail that made her feel strange.
A Justice Department official told lawmakers the agency takes sexual assault allegations very seriously.
A KBR spokeswoman declined comment.
