Stow man sentenced to 15 years for rape

AKRON -- Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh confirmed that Filip Konstantinovich, 49, of Stow, pleaded guilty to rape, a first degree felony, and kidnapping, a first degree felony.

He was sentenced by Judge Tammy O'Brien to 15 years in prison and labeled a Tier III Sex Offender, registering every 90 days for life.

On Sept. 15, 2013, after a four-day crack cocaine binge, Konstantinovich broke into his neighbor's apartment and raped her at knifepoint.

At one point, the victim pretended to pass out when he was choking her.

Stow police were able to get fingerprints and Konstantinovich's DNA at the scene.
