INDIANA, Pa. -- A Pittsburgh woman is jailed on charges she helped kidnap and tried to kill a man because he directed her to a drug dealer who sold her cocaine that wouldn't cook properly.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 34-year-old Marlena Jones who was charged by state police with attempted homicide and other crimes in the Monday night incident.

That's when 19-year-old Thomas Pierce III, of Farrell, was bound with duct tape, stripped, then forced into a plastic laundry container.

Police say Jones and another man still at large tried to kill Pierce in rural Indiana County, about 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Police say a gun jammed when Jones tried to shoot Pierce, so the man lit Pierce on fire with lighter fluid. Pierce put out the fire and ran for help.
