PARKER, COLO. - We all know the phrase - "the empty nest" - when a parent, or parents, are home alone with no children living at home with them anymore.
One Parker mother decided to do buy 11 baby chickens to keep her company when her son left for college - now she's gone from raising chicks to band manager.
Clearly we know these chickens aren't a real band, but there's no denying they have an interest in music, or maybe just playing with a xylophone.
Kris Garrett installed the instrument in her backyard, then marked it with black dots.
Now her chickens spend their days pinging the bars of the instrument when pecking at the dots.
Garrett calls them the "Empty Nest Chickens Band."
