We all know the atmosphere is dynamic, always changing, and that change can happen on various levels.

In yesterday's case of the severe weather in Oklahoma, it was a day when the lower part of the atmosphere had significant severe weather potential at the same time that the upper part of the atmosphere had significant severe weather potential.

Today and tomorrow we have severe potential here in Northern Ohio, but the upper and lower atmosphere will be a little out of sync. (This is a good thing.)

We can certainly feel the heat and humidity, so the lower part of the atmosphere is ready to go, but the upper part is a bit more sluggish...too warm, wind moving too slow.

Tomorrow the upper part of the atmosphere will be a little more organized, but the heat won't be allowed to build like it did today.  This means the storm potential in the lower atmosphere is more tame.

That doesn't mean we won't have severe weather.  There is certainly that possibility, but likelihood of a big severe weather outbreak here isn't all that great.

What storms DO get going will bring us gusty wind and heavy rain potential.  We're likely to see lots of lightning as well.  Hail is possible, but it doesn't look like we'll be dealing with the really big, nasty stuff.

Stay Weather Ready.

Tonight:  Partly to mostly cloudy.  Isolated storms possible. Warm, muggy (and thankfully breezy!).  Upper 60s/near 70

Wednesday: Still warm and partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms likely...strong/severe storms possible.  Low 80s

Thursday: Mostly cloudy and cooler. Rain and storm chances early, then scattered showers linger into the afternoon.  Upper 60s

Friday: Early shower chances, then partly sunny to partly cloudy.  Low 60s (some upper 50s even possible!)

Saturday: Mostly sunny.  Mid 60s

Sunday: Mostly sunny.  Upper 60s

Monday - Memorial Day:  Mostly sunny.  Near 70

Tuesday:  Partly cloudy.  Mid 70s
