LORAIN -- Police say a man has been arrested in a Cleveland suburb after he attacked a police dog that had latched onto his leg.
According to a police report, the incident started when a Lorain police officer pursued a man who was involved in an argument in a parking lot and was reported to have a gun.
When the police K-9 Kriss found Willie Ramos hiding in a rose bush, the man allegedly attacked the K-9. The officer said Ramos grabbed the K-9's face and repeatedly punched it with a closed fist.
K-9 Kriss refused to let go of the suspect's leg even while it was being punched. K-9 Kriss was not seriously injured.
Ramos pleaded not guilty to four charges in court Monday, including assaulting a police dog.
