ABBOTSFORD, CANADA -- Santa isn't the only one keeping watch this time of year, so is a police chief in Canada.
He wants former offenders to know it's better to be nice rather than naughty.
The chief in Abbotsford, Canada sent out Christmas cards to people with criminal records in his jurisdiction area.
The car featured Chief Bob Rich decked out in a Santa suit with flak jacket and a gun on the front. Chief Rich says he and his colleagues want to get out the message that Santa and his law enforcement helpers will be watching them this year.
The inside of the card offers a helpline for former offenders if they are having trouble to adjusting to life outside of prison. It includes the tag line: "Choose a new and better life in 2013."
