MILAN - A traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike turned up more than 350 pounds of marijuana in Erie County.
Troopers stopped a Dodge pick-up truck with Washington plates for following too close to another vehicle this morning. Troopers say they could smell raw marijuana and a search turned up eight large duffel backs containing the hydroponically grown marijuana.
The streets value of the drugs is more than $1.5 million.
Three men in the truck, one from Minnesota and two from Washington are in the Erie County Jail on drug possession and trafficking charges.
The three could face up to 16 years in prison if convicted.
The Patrol says drug violations are up significantly this year. Troopers have made 1,400 more drug arrests than during the same period in 2010.
