Last week the Browns finally beat the Pittsburgh Steelers after 12 straight losses, while his soccer team downed the juggernaut Manchester United club.
He then brought in Mike Holmgren to wine and dine in an effort to convince him to take the job as football "czar" to get the team on track.
Holmgren left town without a deal in place and the Browns may become a bargaining chip for him.
It's clear he's the #1 pick for the job.
Getting the front office stabilized is going to cost money.
But it's also going to take money when it comes to selecting better players in the draft and getting the job done on the field.
