But for the second year in a row, the Cavaliers have fallen short of their championship goal and there are lessons to be learned.

The Cavaliers racked up the best record in the NBA and then sat the starters for a week to rest. By the start of the playoffs, even in the first round with Chicago, there were indications the Cavs were not playoff ready.
By contrast, the Lakers and Celtics had their struggles in the regular season but had themselves back on track and primed for the playoff run.
