Copenhagen, Denmark (Sports Network) - Former world No. 1s Caroline Wozniacki
and Jelena Jankovic were among the quarterfinal winners Friday at the e-Boks
The top-seeded Wozniacki cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 rout of France's Alize Cornet.
She needed just 64 minutes to win on Friday after playing only 67 minutes in
Thursday's second-round thumping of Frenchwoman Pauline Parmentier.
Wozniacki, who grew up in nearby Odense, improved to 13-0 all-time at her home
event. She won the title in 2010 and 2011, and will face Croatia's Petra
Martic in Saturday's semifinals.
Martic advanced Friday with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Serbia's Bojana
Jankovic, seeded third this week, rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 win over
Estonia's Kaia Kanepi and will square off against second-seeded Angelique
Kerber in the semifinals.
Kerber, who won the title at the Paris Indoors earlier this year, posted a
6-2, 0-6, 7-5 win over Germany's Mona Barthel on Friday. She's played three
sets in each of her three wins this week and will play in a semifinal for the
fifth time this year.
This week's champion will earn $37,000.
