COLUMBUS -- The crowd was announced as 81,112 on a misty, overcast day at Ohio Stadium, although there appeared to be far, far fewer in attendance.
The Gray will be walking home and subjected to community service in the fall, as they fell to the Scarlet 20-14. The Urban Meyer era got off to a fast start with the implementation of the no-huddle spread.
Quarterback Braxton Miller was 4-for-4 on a quick, two-minute 65-yard drive just before the half and looked very good early. Miller finished 24-for-31 with 258 yards and may have found himself a new favorite target in freshman Michael Thomas.
Thomas finished with 12 receptions for 131 yards, although much of that may have come against OSU's lack of depth at cornerback.
Kenny Guiton established himself as the backup quarterback with over 100 yards passing and a couple of touchdowns for team Gray in the losing effort.
