Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - There will be no scoring championship for
Kobe Bryant.
Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike Brown said Thursday that the superstar will
sit out the team's regular-season finale against Sacramento. The Lakers are
already locked into the third seed in the Western Conference as Pacific
Division champions and will begin the playoffs on Sunday.
Bryant missed seven games earlier this month with a shin injury, returning on
April 20 against San Antonio. He also played 49 minutes in Sunday's double-
overtime game against Oklahoma City.
In 58 games this season, Bryant averaged 27.86 points. He'll finish behind
Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant in the scoring race. Durant wrapped up his
regular season on Wednesday and finished with an average of 28.03 points.
