BEREA -- Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor has a torn left pectoral muscle.
Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur confirmed the injury during the team's rookie minicamp.
Taylor is scheduled for surgery sometime next week and will miss a significant amount of time.
The injury happened while Taylor was lifting weights.
Shurmur said the injury is "unfortunate".
The Browns drafted Taylor out of Baylor in the first-round of the 2011 NFL draft. He recorded four sacks in his rookie season.
