Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) - Second time around.
The Samford football program announced the signing of Arkansas State transfer
defensive back James Bradberry to its program on Thursday.
Coach Pat Sullivan and his staff had recruited Bradberry before he chose
Arkansas State and spent a redshirt season there last fall. The Pleasant Grove,
Ala., resident has four seasons of eligibility remaining.
"James is a tall and very athletic defensive back," Samford cornerbacks coach
Sam Shade. "He played both wide receiver and defensive back in high school. He
has good ball skills, and he will give us some much-needed depth in the
secondary."
Bradberry, 6-foot-1, 189 pounds, was an Alabama first-team all-state selection
out of Pleasant Grove High School as a senior. He recorded 45 tackles, 11 pass
break-ups and nine interceptions.
