EUGENE, Ore. - Willie Brown, a junior from The University of Akron track and field team, was the second Zip in as many days to chase the Olympic dream at the U.S. Olympic Trials Friday at Hayward Field.

Brown, who owns the school record in the 800-meters (1:45.91), placed 32nd overall with a time of 1:51.33.

The top 16 spots advanced to Saturday's semifinals.

Nike's Tyler Mulder posted the top time on the day with a mark of 1:46.81. Senior Valerie Fraizer (Wert), who exhausted her eligibility last winter, placed 20th in the women's hammer throw Thursday with a mark of 194-08.

A third athlete with UA ties, Zips' volunteer coach Colin Moleton, who was a two-time All-American at The University of Mississippi, will compete in the javelin Saturday when the 11-day U.S. Olympic Trials continues at Hayward Field, one of the most hallowed sites in the sport and host of the '72, '76, '80 and '08 Olympic Trials.
