Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - David Morway announced his resignation as general manager of the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, just two days before the NBA Draft.

Morway may not be the biggest name to go, however, as reports have surfaced recently saying Larry Bird will step down as president of the organization. The Indianapolis Star reported that because of unspecified health reasons, Bird will likely take a year off before deciding what he will do next.

Morway had been the Pacers' vice president of basketball operations since 1999 and added the title of general manager in April 2008.

Indiana made it back to the Eastern Conference semifinals this past season for the first time since the 2004-05 campaign. The club finished the regular season with a 42-24 record and was ousted in the postseason by the eventual- champion Miami Heat.

"I've had a terrific 13-plus years with the franchise," said Morway. "The performance of this year's team both on and off the court was incredibly rewarding. To experience Bankers Life Fieldhouse full to the rafters again, with an energy reminiscent of the late 90s, and to see our fan base re-engaged and proud made it all worthwhile."
