Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Kevin
Millwood left Wednesday's 2-1 loss against the Oakland Athletics in the third
inning with an injury to his right groin.
He previously suffered an injury to the groin in a 1-0 win over the Los
Angeles Dodgers on June 8. Millwood pitched six no-hit innings in that start
and the Mariners went on to complete the first combined no-hitter since 2003.
On Wednesday, Millwood's only blemish in 2 2/3 innings was a solo home run off
the bat of Coco Crisp. Hisashi Iwakuma took over for Millwood and allowed the
game-winning solo shot to Yoenis Cespedes in the seventh inning.
Millwood, 37, is 3-6 this season with a 4.00 earned-run average in 15 starts
for Seattle.
