CLEVELAND -- The Indians have two players going to the All-Star game in Kansas City next week. They believe second baseman Jason Kipnis should be there, too.
Kipnis was left off this year's squad despite a strong first half in his first full season in the majors. The 25-year-old entered Monday's game against Los Angeles batting .275 with 11 home runs and 47 RBIs.
He's also got three triples, 20 steals, scored 47 runs and played exceptional defense.
Despite his impressive resume, Kipnis was beaten out by Robinson Cano and Ian Kinsler.
Kipnis would not talk about his snub, but Indians manager Manny Acta said he was disappointed for Kipnis, who he feels "has the numbers to go."
Acta is confident Kipnis will have an opportunity to be an All-Star "for years to come.
