BEREA -- Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur offered few comments regarding news that the team is up for sale.
Shortly after practice at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Shurmur spoke with the media in a very brief press conference but didn't take any questions.
"I know Mike Holmgren has spoken to you, so I've got nothing to add," he told the press. "Absolutely nothing to add to it."
Shurmur said his main concern was making sure the coaches, players and staff were all made aware of the situation early on.
"I also informed them that the goals -- the things we talked about last night in the meeting as we move forward this year -- have not changed. Not one bit. Not one bit. What we're trying to do as a football team should be unchanged by what was talked about today."
Shurmur continued by saying this year's team is much strong.
"We'll be much better prepared this season. I feel like we've got a better group to put on the field and I think we function better as a staff. And so that's my concern. And that's what I told the players and the feedback from them is they understand that message. So that's what we're doing. That being said, I'm not going to answer any questions regarding today's news."
