Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Patriots signed free agent running back Jeff Demps on Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Demps, 22, carried the ball 367 times for 2,470 yards and 23 touchdowns over 51 games, including 27 starts, during his four-year career at the University of Florida.

The Florida native was on the United States Olympic roster at the 2012 London Olympics as a member of the 4x100-meter relay team that won a silver medal.
