CLEVELAND -- Bow season started Saturday for hunters and while they are out there bagging a buck, there is also a chance for a good deed.

In the 2011-2012 hunting season, hunters helped donate 443,621 pounds of meat to the hungry.

One deer can create up to 200 meals.

That's where Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry comes in to play.

Hunters who don't want the venison can drop the game off at an approved butcher site.

The shop will handle the processing and distribution of the meat to local food banks, shelters and churches, anyone who helps feed people who are food insecure.

Butchers will also accept elk and other farm animals.
