Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Heat exercised the third-year rookie scale option on guard Norris Cole on Tuesday.

Cole was originally the 28th pick of the 2011 draft by Minnesota, but he had his rights traded to Miami in a draft day trade.

He averaged 6.8 points, 2.0 assists and 1.4 rebounds over 65 games last season.
