Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers announced that they
have placed running back Cedric Benson on the injured reserve designated to
return list.
Benson injured his foot during last Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
He was expected to miss Week 6's matchup against the Houston Texans, but now
won't be eligible to practice for six weeks and can't play for eight weeks.
The earliest he will be able to return to game action will be Dec. 2 against
the Minnesota Vikings.
In five games this season, Benson has rushed for 248 yards and a touchdown on
71 carries and has caught 14 passes for 97 yards.
