Indians outfielder Matt LaPorta underwent a left hip arthroscopy Thursday morning in Nashville, TN.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Thomas Byrd of the Nashville Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.

Byrd performed a debridement of the left hip joint.  Recovery and rehab is expected to take 3-to-4 months with the expectation Matt will be unrestricted for the start of exhibition play.
