Relive some of the biggest happenings from the past week in Northeast Ohio prep sports.

Monday

Triway High School senior three sport student-athlete Tessa Brooks was recently named one of 12 national finalists for the 2012 Wendy's High School Heisman Award.

Former Euclid track coach Bob Ramlow, 76, died Nov. 2 at his home in Cuyahoga Falls. Ramlow is a member of four different athletic hall of fames

East Palestine football coach Gare Mattes recently resigned as the leader of the Bulldogs.

Tuesday

Walsh Jesuit athletic director Grant Conzaman announced on Tuesday that two of the schools longest tenured coaches - John Kissner and Missy Sturm - have decided to leave their coaching posts. Kissner started the Warriors' boys soccer program in 1978 and has been its only leader. Sturm founded the girls volleyball team over two decades ago and has guided the program since 1993.

Wednesday

InterMat high school rankings coordinator Josh Lowe has ranked Brecksville-Broadview Heights sophomore Austin Assad, St. Edward senior Dean Heil, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy senior Nathan Tomasello and St. Edward senior Dominic Abounader as the nation's top prep grapplers in their respective weight classes.

St. Ignatius senior right-handed pitcher Kyle Pluta recently orally committed to attend Tiffin University in fall 2013 and to join the school's baseball program.      

Thursday

Minerva High School recently inducted four members - Bernie Marcinkowey, Jamie Ford, Levi Madison and Keith Bush - into the school's athletic hall of fame.

Friday

The Walsh Jesuit girls soccer team defeated Columbus St. Francis DeSales 5-0 on Friday afternoon to win the Division II state championship for a state-best sixth time.

Saturday

The Beaumont volleyball team captured its first-ever volleyball state title on Saturday when the Blue Streaks defeated the Norwalk Truckers in five games to win the Division II state championship.  

Hawken's bid for its second boys soccer state title came up win short, as the Hawks fell 2-0 to Cincinnati Summit Country Day in the Division III state championship game on Saturday.

Dayton Carroll defeated Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy 2-0 on Saturday to win its third consecutive boys soccer Division II state title.

The Massillon Jackson volleyball team's first appearance at the state tournament ended one win shy of the team's goal, as the Polar Bears were defeated in three games by the Cincinnati Ursuline Academy Lions in the Division I state final on Saturday.

The Maria Stein Marion Local volleyball team defeated Kidron Central Christian in three games to win the Division IV state title on Saturday.
