Charlottesville, VA (Sports Network) - Akil Mitchell posted a career-high 20
points to go along with nine rebounds, as the Virginia Cavaliers cruised to a
67-51 win over the Green Bay Phoenix in non-league play at John Paul Jones
Arena.
Joe Harris also scored 20 to help the Cavaliers (6-2) to their fifth straight
win.
Alec Burke scored 14 points and Keifer Sykes added 12 for the Phoenix (3-4).
UVA knocked down 5-of-8 3-pointers (.625) in the first half but had to rally
from a 25-24 deficit to take a 31-27 lead into the half.
The Cavaliers opened the second stanza with a 7-2 run and later used a 15-2
run to pull away from the Phoenix.
UVA shot 50 percent from the floor (26-of-52) and 50 percent from the
perimeter (7-of-14) over the course of the game.
