Cedar Falls, IA (Sports Network) - Nate Buss scored 17 points in 20 minutes
off the bench to pace the Panthers as Northern Iowa defeated the Milwaukee
Panthers, 72-61, in non-conference action at the McLeod Center.
Seth Tuttle added 11 points for UNI (4-3), which snapped a three-game losing
streak with the win. Matt Bohannon and Anthony James chipped in 10 points each
while Jake Koch grabbed six rebounds.
Milwaukee (2-5) suffered its fourth loss in a row despite Paris Gulley's game-
high 24-point performance. Kyle Kelm scored 16 points and Jordan Aaron
finished with 10 on 4-of-13 shooting from the field. Aaron and Demetrius
Harris pulled down eight boards each.
UNI scored the first seven points of the contest but the visitors came right
back and the teams traded leads 10 times in the opening half. The hosts scored
six points off of turnovers to help build a slight 32-29 lead going into the
break.
The game remained close for the early portion of the second half, but UNI went
on a 20-5 run to build a 61-48 advantage with 6:22 left to play. Milwaukee
shot 41.9 percent from the floor after the break, but could not keep up as it
allowed UNI to convert 60.0 percent of its field goal attempts.
UNI outscored Milwaukee 12-3 at the foul line in the contest.
