Chattanooga, TN (Sports Network) - Tyler Kalinoski scored 15 points off the
bench, leading four players in double figures, as the Davidson Wildcats
registered an 81-55 win over the Chattanooga Mocs in Southern Conference
action at MeKenzie Arena.
De'Mon Brooks accounted for 14 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats
(4-3, 1- SoCon), followed by Clint Mann and Jake Cohen with 13 and 12 points,
respectively, as the squad won for the third time in the last four outings.
The Mocs (2-5, 0-1) were paced by Gee McGhee who dropped in 15 points,
although he shot just 2-of-7 behind the three-point line and 3-of-15 from the
floor overall. Z. Mason tacked on 14 points and six rebounds for Chattanooga
which suffered a fifth loss in six games.
The Mocs made a total of only eight field goals in the first half, missing all
but one of six tries beyond the arc, while also converting 9-of-16 at the
free-throw line, leading to a 39-26 deficit at the break.
In the second half the hosts again shot poorly from the floor (7-of-26), while
Davidson pulled away with the help of 7-of-12 shooting out on the perimeter,
en route to the 26-point victory.
The Wildcats finished the contest hitting on 14-of-29 from three-point range,
compared to only 3-of-12 for the Mocs.
