San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Chase Tapley hit six 3-pointers and netted 23
points in No. 17 San Diego State's 84-70 win over UC Santa Barbara.
Jamaal Franklin added 14 points, five assists and four rebounds, while JJ
O'Brien finished with 12 points for the Aztecs (7-1), who have won seven
straight since losing their season opener against Syracuse.
San Diego State made 11-of-17 from beyond the arc in the victory.
Kyle Boswell tallied 23 points and nailed seven triples for UC Santa Barbara
(3-5), which has dropped three of its last four contests.
Alan Williams netted 18 points and Taran Brown finished with 16 in defeat.
UCSB's lone lead of the game was 5-4 after Brown knocked down a trey, but the
Aztecs responded with a 14-0 run.
O'Brien had six points during the surge and San Diego State led, 18-5, with
13:57 left in the opening 20 minutes before taking a 46-29 edge into the
break.
The hosts' margin swelled to as many as 27 in the second half.
