Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - A select group of Big Sky Conference officials
will call the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game on Saturday.
The game is a rematch of last year's national title contest between defending
champion North Dakota State and 2011 runner-up Sam Houston State.
Gregg Wilson will be the head referee, while Doug Toole, the Big Sky's
coordinator of football officials, will be in charge for the last time in his
14-year career because he is retiring following the game.
"It's an honor to have our crew here," Toole said. "It's an honor to end in
the championship, at least for me it is."
Wilson will be joined by fellow Big Sky referees who have experience working
this season's FCS playoffs. This includes umpire Chuck Butterfield, head
linesman Terry White, line judge Rod Ammari, field judge David Clark, side
judge Robert Holloway and back judge Jeff Rink.
Big Sky officials last worked the FCS title game in 2005 when Appalachian
State defeated Northern Iowa 21-16, in Chattanooga, Tenn., for the first of
its three straight national crowns.
