Pullman, WA (Sports Network) - Aziz N'Diaye recorded a double-double with 14
points and 10 rebounds for the Washington Huskies as they claimed a 68-63
Pac-12 victory over their instate rivals the Washington State Cougars at the
Beasley Coliseum in the 275th meeting between the schools.
N'Diaye was 7-of-9 from the field for the Huskies (9-6, 1-0 Pac-12), who
earned their fifth win in six games. C.J. Wilcox led all scorers with 18
points and seven rebounds while Scott Suggs added 11 points.
Mike Ladd scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Cougars (9-5,
0-1), who saw their four-game winning streak come to a close. Brock Motum
contributed 15 points and five rebounds while DaVonte Lacy scored 10 points in
the loss.
Washington led 34-27 at halftime after shooting 52.2 percent from the field
and holding the Cougars to 27.6 percent.
In the second half, Washington State battled back and outscored the Huskies,
36-34, but Andrew Andrews was 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in the final 30
seconds to help Washington hold on for the victory.
The Huskies shot 54.2 percent from the field throughout the game while the
Cougars struggled, making good on only 36.8 percent of their shots from the
floor.
