Spokane, WA (Sports Network) - Kelly Olynyk did not miss a shot and finished
with 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists, as No. 10 Gonzaga cruised to
an 83-63 wire-to-wire victory over BYU in a battle of the top two teams in the
West Coast Conference.
Gonzaga (18-2, 5-0 WCC) emphatically rebounded from a last-second loss at
Butler last weekend by shooting 57 percent from the floor.
Olynyk played a big part in the onslaught by hitting all nine of his field
goal attempts and going 8-for-8 from the foul line. Elias Harris chipped in 25
points and 10 rebounds, while Kevin Pangos added 12 points in the win.
BYU's Tyler Haws, the leading scorer in the conference at 21.6 points per game
coming in, went 0-for-9 from the field and scored just one point. Brandon
Davies and Josh Sharp each netted 14 for the Cougars (15-6, 5-2), who have
lost two of their last three following a six-game winning streak.
