Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Anthony Drmic scored 22 points to lead the Boise
State Broncos to a 77-72 victory over the UNLV Runnin' Rebels in a Mountain
West Conference battle at Taco Bell Arena.
Derrick Marks added 17 points as the Broncos (15-6, 3-4 MWC), while Ryan
Watkins finished with 12 points and Jeff Elorriaga chipped in with 11 points.
Anthony Bennett scored 25 points and Anthony Marshall added 18 points and
matched a career-high with 12 assists for the Runnin' Rebels (17-5, 4-3).
Boise State started the game on an 11-2 run as it took a 42-35 lead at the
break. The Broncos connected on 53.8 percent from the field and 4-of-8
from 3-point range. The Runnin' Rebels hit on 52.2 percent of their field
goal tries and 6-of-13 from beyond the 3-point arc.
After the break Boise State made 44.8 percent of their field goal attempts,
including 4-of-11 from 3-point range. UNLV converted 48.4 percent from the
field, but only 2-of-11 from beyond the 3-point arc in the second half.
Boise State had the edge in rebounding, 30-28, and points in the paint, 32-28,
UNLV forward Mike Moser was ejected with just over four minutes remaining in
the first half after being assessed a flagrant 2 foul for his shot to the head
of Drmic on a breakaway.
