Oxford, OH -- Demetrius Treadwell and Brian Walsh each had 13 points, and the Mid-American Conference-leading Akron Zips earned a 54-50 victory over the Miami-Ohio RedHawks at Millett Hall.
The victory extended the Zips' (19-4, 10-0 MAC) winning streak to 15 in a row, the longest active streak in the nation.
Allen Roberts scored 11 points off the bench to pace the RedHawks (8-14, 3-7), who have lost six of their last seven contests. Reggie Johnson and Drew McGhee scored 10 apiece in the loss.
Akron got off to a dismal start, as the Zips shot just 6-of-25 from the floor (.240) in the first half and trailed, 25-16 at intermission.
However, the Zips scored the first six points of the second stanza, and they eventually took the lead on Alex Abreu's layup with just under eight minutes to play in regulation. Akron went on to shoot 56.5 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes to complete the comeback.
The Zips forced 18 turnovers for the game en route to their fifth straight win in the head-to-head series.
