Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Keifer Sykes scored 16 points and dished out
a game-high five assists to lead the Green Bay Phoenix to a 68-59 victory over
the Detroit Titans in a Horizon League clash at the Resch Center.
Jordan Fouse added 12 points and seven rebounds for Green Bay (13-12, 7-5 HL)
which bounced back from a double-overtime loss to Wright State earlier in the
week. Kam Cerroni hit 3-of-4 from 3-point range for 11 points off the bench,
while Alec Brown poured in 10 points to go along with three blocked shots.
Ray McCallum did everything he could for Detroit (16-9, 8-4), erupting for a
season-high 30 points on 12-of-19 from the field, adding five rebounds and
four steals. Jason Calliste chipped in 14 points.
Detroit led 33-30 at halftime thanks to a hot start where they went ahead 15-8
before the second media timeout. The Titans shot 48 percent from the floor in
the first half while holding the Phoenix to 40.9 percent.
Green Bay tied the score on a Sykes triple 14 seconds into the second half.
Neither team led by more than five points for the majority of the period until
Green Bay went on a 10-0 run late, which included two three-point plays by
Sykes, to take control of the game.
In a game that featured eight ties and nine lead changes, Green Bay reserves
outscored their counterparts, 25-2.
