Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Frantz Massenat scored 14 points and
reached the 1,000-point plateau for his career as the Drexel Dragons defeated
the James Madison Dukes, 60-48, in Colonial Athletic Association action at the
Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Derrick Thomas added 13 points and Daryl McCoy brought in nine rebounds for
Drexel (10-14, 6-6 CAA) which had lost three of its previous four games.
Charles Cooke paced James Madison (14-12, 8-5) with 16 points while Rayshawn
Goins added 11 and Devon Moore chipped in 10. The Dukes had won five of their
previous six games.
Although Drexel shot just 38.5 percent from the floor in the first half, the
Dragons led 23-12 at the break by holding James Madison to just five field
goals on 27.8 percent shooting.
In the second frame the Dragons shot at a 45.5 percent rate and hit 14-of-19
from the free-throw line to secure the victory.
Drexel had a 14-6 edge in points off turnovers and outscored the Dukes,
24-16, in the paint.
