Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Vander Blue scored 19 points for the second
straight game and the 17th-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles disposed of the
Seton Hall Pirates, 67-46, on Tuesday at Prudential Center.
Davante Gardner had 18 points off the bench and played an important role
during a second-half surge to help the Golden Eagles (19-6, 10-3 Big East)
pull away for good.
With the rest of the conference idle on Tuesday, the victory puts Marquette
alone atop the Big East with five games remaining.
In suffering their first eight-game losing streak since the 1985-86 season,
the Pirates (13-14, 2-12) never got their offensive game going and only
managed 19 points over the final 20 minutes.
Fuquan Edwin led Seton Hall with 14 points in the setback.
