Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Scott Suggs netted 18 points as the Washington
Huskies held off the USC Trojans for a 65-57 victory in a Pac-12 Conference
tilt at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Jernard Jarreau added 12 points for Washington (17-13, 9-8 Pac-12) as it
collected its third win in a row. C.J. Wilcox contributed 11 points and eight
boards while Aziz N'Diaye corralled 11 rebounds.
Dewayne Dedmon paced the Trojans (14-16, 9-8) with 18 points on 9-of-11
shooting from the floor. J.T. Terrell chipped in 16 points in the loss.
Although Washington limited the visitors to 35.7 percent shooting from the
floor in the first half and made 40.6 percent of its field goal attempts, the
game went into halftime tied up at 28. Terrell tallied 12 of his points in the
opening 20 minutes as USC scored 10 points off of turnovers.
The Huskies dominated on the glass after the break as they held a 25-13 edge
in rebounds to maximize their total of possessions. Although Washington made
only 31 percent of its attempts from the field in the second half, it managed
to pull away by sinking 17-of-18 at the charity stripe.
The reserves played a big role in the win as Washington's bench outscored its
counterpart, 23-4.
