Hathaway Brown heading to Columbus in search of fifth straight title

The Hathaway Brown School girls basketball team is set to make the program's seventh consecutive Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournament appearance when the Blazers (21-6) play Clyde (27-0) in a Division II state semifinal contest on Thursday at Ohio State's Value City Arena.

HB is ranked seventh in the final Associated Press state poll of the season. The Blazers are lead by dynamic seniors Vanessa Smith and Nia Marshall. Both Associated Press Northeast Lakes All-District first-teamers, Smith is averaging 16.5 points per game and Marshall is averaging 15.1 points per contest.

The four-time defending state champions, HB has advanced to the state title game each of the past six seasons.

Tipoff for the state semifinal is set for 6 p.m.
