The Millersburg West Holmes High School girls basketball team is set to make the program's second consecutive Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournament appearance - and seventh overall - when the Knights (27-1) play Dayton Chaminade Julienne (19-9) in a Division II state semifinal contest on Thursday at Ohio State's Value City Arena.

West Holmes is ranked third in the final Associated Press state poll of the season. The Knights are led offensively by junior Laina Snyder. Snyder, an All-Ohio first-team selection, is averaging 16 points per game.

The Knights are in search of the program's first state title since 1986.

West Holmes head coach Lisa Patterson recently was named a Division II Coach of the Year by the Associated Press.

Patterson participated in a teleconference with state media members on Monday. Watch the above video to see what she had to say about her team and its outstanding season.

Tipoff for the state semifinal is set for 8 p.m.
