Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Ray Whitney scored twice in a big third period
as the Dallas Stars took a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
Vernon Fiddler also had two goals and added an assist while Alex Goligoski
scored for the Stars, who have won three straight.
Dallas starting goaltender Kari Lehtonen left the game in the first period
with a lower body injury after allowing one goal on eight shots. Richard
Bachman stopped all 22 shots in relief.
It was a big two points for Dallas, as the team now has 41 on the season and
sits two back of Detroit for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Drew Doughty had the lone goal of the game for the Kings, who have dropped
their past two. Jonathan Quick allowed all five goals on 31 shots in the loss.
