HS softball: OHSFSCA releases fifth state polls of season

The Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association released the fifth set of its six weekly high school softball state polls of the 2013 season on Monday night.

Division I

1. North Canton Hoover - Total Points: 120 (First-place votes: 12)

2. Lebanon - Total Points: 88  

3. Elyria - Total Points: 80

4. Avon Lake - Total Points: 78

5. Holland Springfield - Total Points: 70

6. Northmont - Total Points: 44  

7. Delaware Hayes - Total Points: 40

8. Grove City - Total Points: 34  

9. Oregon Clay - Total Points: 31

10. Brecksville-Broadview Heights - Total Points: 29

Division II

1. River Valley - Total Points: 65 (First-place votes: 5)

2. Kenton Ridge - Total Points: 61 (First-place votes: 1)

3. Greenville - Total Points: 49

4. LaGrange Keystone - Total Points: 44

5. Akron Springfield - Total Points: 43 (First-place votes: 1)   

6. Lima Bath - Total Points: 38 (First-place votes: 1)

7. Franklin - Total Points: 30

8. Hebron Lakewood - Total Points: 24

9. Licking Valley - Total Points: 17

10. Mansfield Madison - Total Points: 13

2. Berlin Center Western Reserve - Total Points: 56 (First-place votes: 1)

5. Portsmouth Notre Dame - Total Points: 27

The OHFSCSA also recently announced the winners of its 2013 team academic awards. Avon Lake finished atop the rankings of teams with weighted GPAs with a 4.135 cumulative GPA. Westlake finished second in the same category with a 3.952 cumulative GPA. Elyria finished fifth with a 3.770 cumulative GPA.
