Boston, MA (Sports Network) - New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez
was reportedly tied to a man who was found dead Monday night.
The body of Odin Lloyd was found near Hernandez's home in North Attleboro,
Mass. on Monday night. Police have begun the investigation as a homicide and
met with Hernandez at his home on Tuesday and Wednesday.
FOX-25 in Boston cited a law enforcement source as saying that Hernandez and
Lloyd were with two other men at a bar in Boston on the night of the homicide
and left together in a vehicle driven by Hernandez. The report said it is
still unclear as to what happened afterward.
Sports Illustrated first broke the story on Tuesday, saying Hernandez was
questioned by Massachusetts state police in its investigation. According to
SI.com, police have connected a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban rented in Hernandez's
name with the homicide of Lloyd.
Hernandez has spent three seasons with the Patriots. He set career highs of 79
catches, 910 receiving yards and seven touchdowns during his Pro Bowl season
of 2011, then played in just 10 games due to injuries last year and finished
with 51 receptions for 483 yards with five touchdowns.
