CLEVELAND -- It used to have a less than stellar reputation, but Edgewater Park is on a comeback.

The Cleveland Metroparks took over Edgewater, Villa Angela, Wildwood and Euclid Beach about six weeks ago from the state.

Visitors say they see a big difference already.

Edgewater Beach is cleaned several times a day, while it used to be a couple times a month. Crews are trimming trees and keeping up with trash.

Safety was also a big issue for residents and now there are many more patrols by rangers and bike patrols so families feel more comfortable.

Cleveland City Councilman Matt Zone says, "It's like night and day, people say they will now walk on the beach barefoot."
