The Toledo Rogers High School girls basketball team is set to make the program's inaugural Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournament appearance when the Lady Rams (24-4) play Kettering Archbishop Alter (28-0) in a Division II state semifinal contest on Thursday at Ohio State's Schottenstein Center.
Rogers is ranked 12th in the final Associated Press state media poll, and the Lady Rams are averaging 66.1 points per game and outscoring their opponents by an average of more than 30 points per contest.
The Lady Rams' offensive attack is led by the scoring tandem of senior Sasha Dailey and sophomore Akienreh Johnson. Dailey, a second-team all-state guard, is averaging 11.2 points per game. Johnson, an honorable mention all-state forward, is averaging 11.5 points per contest.
Rogers head coach Lamar Smith owns a 232-92 record in his 13 seasons at the helm of the school's girls basketball program.
