Indians beat Seattle Mariners 8-5

The Indians defeated the Seattle Mariners, 8-5, in Peoria Stadium.

After allowing 4 runs in the first inning, the Tribe clawed their way back with a run in the 4th inning (after a Jeff Francoeur lead-off double) and tied it at 5 in the 7th inning after an Elliot Johnson RBI double followed by a 2-run opposite field homer from Ryan Raburn (2nd of the spring).

The Indians scored three times in the top of the 9th inning with Francisco Lindor providing the game-deciding pinch-hit double that opened the door on the three run final frame.

Eight relievers without allowing an earned run followed Travis Banwart (0.2IP, 3H, 4R/ER, HR).

Tomorrow the Indians will play the Chicago Cubs in Goodyear at 3:05 p.m. ET/1:05 p.m.MT.

RHP Justin Masterson starts for the Tribe against LHP Travis Wood for the Cubs. The contest will be heard on with the dulcet tones of Jim Rosenhaus on the call.
